I first played paintball years ago (1986). My dad and I got some of our friends and paid to be taken out to the mountains, given those old 10 round Splatmasters and play elimination. That awesome experience has stuck with me and is something that contributes to the love I have today for the sport.

My brother Dan is responsible for getting me into paintball. He tried to get me out for years. I finally made it out once, and have never stopped since. Other than paintball, I enjoy wakeboarding, guitar and movies. I work as an Architectural 3d modeler, designer, and illustrator at VCBO Architecture. I also do adjunct teaching in the Architecture department at SLCC.

I've been around so long that my first version of this sport involved throwing rocks. Of course that ended when I knocked my best friend out of a tree with a well-aimed throw, and he broke his arm in the fall. We then moved on to BB guns. Yes, we wore safety goggles. From there it was rim-fire and center-fire pistols and rifles. We were smart enough to not aim those at each other. One of my sons introduced me to paintball in 2005, and I've been throwing paint (LOTS of it!) ever since. Definitely a lot safer than the 'sports' I used to play! When my kids and I aren't playing paintball, I run an ATV repair and manufacturing company.

I played first when I was in Junior High, but stopped playing until 2006. I’ve come a long way in under a year and I’ve had more fun than I think I can handle. I plan on continuing that lifestyle as long as I possibly can and helping other people discover the love for paintball that I’ve found.

I play mainly woodsball/scenario, but recently got into speedball as well. I play for team Desert Edge and have been playing regularly for about a year. I did play in junior high and high school, but that was just with some friends with my Spyder TL+, hahaha! I believe in fair play and am in paintball to have fun, so don’t often get upset, except at myself. My only regret with paintball is that I can’t play it every day, damn school and work, and girlfriend, and football, and skiing.

I took up paintball after an Army buddy finally convinced me it was worth the money to get into it. Little did I know that would open a floodgate. I have played just about once a week, sometimes 3 a week, since then. I met some great people along the way and started some good friendships. We created a team and Desert Edge was born. I currently teach the Army’s Warrior Leader Course and serve as a Combat Engineer. I have spent a year and a half in Iraq, and will be going back again soon.

Born and raised in Melbourne, FL moved to Utah in 2000 to go to school.
Married with 1 child that keeps me more than busy.

Grew up mostly in California where I started playing paintball my freshmen year in high school. I mostly played woodsball in the hills of Santa Cruz and Monterey. My first gun was a VM-68. I just started playing again last year when I found out my neighbor Jeff Bean used to play and we decided to get back into paintball. We started by using the Special Ops Game Locator and playing at any pick up game we could find; and now we play every week with Desert Edge.

I’m a high-end computer geek, focusing on Open Source, and Enterprise Financial Applications. Started with slingshot paintball in high school, learned to play in the Western Washington forests. I enjoy playing Dagger and Sabre style play, always pushing the front lines hard.

I have been playing paintball for about eleven years now and I have enjoyed it most of the time. I started in Jr. High school and could not stop playing. I did not realize until about two years ago that I sucked. I got my phantom and went out to shoot pump and my skills improved quickly and continued to grow. I started looking for a team to play with and that’s when I really started to have fun. Since I started playing with a team that is organized I have improved and really had a chance to fall in to a style that I am good at and comfortable with. Playing with Team Desert Edge has been the highlight of my paintball life.

I love playing paintball, but I probably spend too much time playing rugby and could use some extra time sharpening my paintball skills. I have a beautiful family consisting of one kid and one wife who enjoy the outdoors.

I primarily play team sniper as a ghost flanker but more recently I have started playing Sabre and am becoming a much better player overall.

I first play paintball is 2 yrs ago with a co-worker who asked me to play woodball. My first gun was Spyder and now I play with an Ego. I have meet alot of friends in the past and love playing paintball. If you love playing sports, this is the game you should start looking into.

My name is Steven Manuel, I am 28 years old and I've been playing paintball for 12 years now. I've seen the sport evolve from the glory days of woodsball where patience and tactics won the day, into the fast and the furious times of speedball where BPS and electronic markers rule the day. I first started playing in the cactus and tumbleweeds of the Arizona desert with a rented F2 Illustrator. Now I usually roll with my WGP Karnivor for woodsball and a trusty Bob Long Ripper 2 for the occasional forays onto the speedball fields. Its been a long strange ride with friends and experiences that I wouldn't trade for the world.

I first played paintball in '95 in Rhode Island and got a tick. I remember having fun, but didn't play again until about '00. After that (not so great) experience, I didn't play again until '05 when I attended a big scenario with some friends from work. Playing outdoors with folks I know turned me into a junkie and I haven't stopped playing at any opportunity since. Making the DE team has been the highlight of playing so far. I am currently employed as a vending machine repair tech and love what I do. I get to think for myself, work good hours, and I get weekends off. My other hobbies include playing Legos with my six-year-old son, hanging out with my wife, and fooling around on computers. I'm hoping to make a big contribution to the world of paintball by being a member of one of the premiere teams in Utah.
