Many event producers give awards for an MVP of the event. Some don't. Players from Desert Edge have been known to receive such recognition, and other times we just plainly don't deserve it. However, as a Team, we always like to recognize a player from our team who played the best overall for the event.
Rangerball: Mt. Suribachi - February 23, 2008 Dan Saunders aka. Danger Dan Dan mentioned several times prior to the event his plan to "shoot everyone in the face." Some people thought he was joking, but he shot more players than anyone at the event. And over half those kills were shots in the mask. It was pretty hilarious.
Ops Challenge - October 13, 2007 James Davis aka. Zmeister James consistently had the most kills in every game at the tournament which ultimately lead Desert Edge to a 1st place win!
SPPL Finals - October 13-14, 2007 Mark Barrett aka. Kavaman Mark is probably one of the most over-looked players on our team. He's not usually seeking for glory, or making big claims for how many kills he had. Mark consistantly has the most commander kills on the team.
UXPL Championships - September 15, 2007 Bralen Jackson aka. Xareo The entire day proved to be a complete Team effort. In the end, it was Bralen who made the move that determined the Desert Edge win. In the last game, all but Bralen were eliminated. A player from the opposing team casually skipped his way accross the center of the field to grab the flag assuming everyone was eliminated, and Bralen was hiding in the back bunker and took him out. If it wasn't for this, Desert Edge would not have taken 1st place for the season.
SPPL Utah Qualifier - September 8-9, 2007 Dan Saunders aka. Danger Dan (Team Red) Though Dan usually leads the team in one way or another, this event was the first SPPL format game where Dan played the actual "commander" position. As risky as that seemed, he filled the position perfectly.
SPPL Utah Qualifier - September 8-9, 2007 Bobby Milbourn aka. Silent Indian (Blue Team) Bobby was voted on the team durring the first day of the SPPL qualifier, and all weekend he proved to us all that we made the right decision.
Aliens in the Rockies - August 24-25, 2007 Tim Saunders aka. T-Bone
Operation Bad Karma - July 28, 2007 Rob Worthington aka. Ren "Assuming the role as General for th DE side (the Americans) Rob pulled us all together as a team."
Bralen Jackson aka. Xareo "The entire team played very well, but Bralen really stood out from the rest of the group."
Elite Weekend June 22-24, 2007 Tim Saunders aka. T-Bone
"Tim really stepped up to the plate and got the entire team organized into different playing and reffing responsibilities. If he had not done that, the event would not have been as rewarding to the entire team."
Rangerball "Hamburger Hill" - May 19, 2007 Tim Saunders aka. T-Bone
"Tim saved the day when he came back to reinforce the hill when it was under attack. It was a blast watching him from the top of the hill as he worked the base of the hill the rest of the day."
Thanh Saengkeo "Thanh played every game. He consistently had the most kills. When he wasn't getting kills, Thanh played so aggressively, the rest of the team was able to get the kills."
Brad Oakley aka. Bad Mojo "All day long, All day strong." Brad played his position so consistantly and effective. He held of an entire side of the fied with his double trouble for about 45 mins.
Trid Challenge - April 21, 2007 Greg Dalby aka. Trident
SpecialOps Grand Opening Game - April 14, 2007 Tim Saundets aka. T-Bone Tim was the General for the Yellow Team.
Kia Kamauu aka. Killa
Halo "Red vs. Blue - April 7, 2007 Jake Weber aka. Silentfoe It didn't matter what the situation was. Whenever cover fire was needed, or if there was a cluster of the oposition in a group of trees, Jake really worked that Apex giving our team the chance to move up the field.
